💼 Blockchain Developer — DRC LLC (On-site, Miami)
DRC LLC is building a decentralized social platform (Reddit-style alternative) and seeks a protocol-level Blockchain Developer based in Miami for hands-on, in-person work. This is a high impact blockchain job focused on consensus engines, P2P networking, and applied cryptography and this is not smart contract work. If you have production experience in protocol design and a portfolio of protocol level contributions, this role offers competitive hourly pay and the chance to ship foundational infrastructure.
About the Project
You’ll join a team building a decentralized social platform intended as a privacy-first, scalable Reddit alternative. A Python prototype exists for rapid iteration; production systems will be implemented in Go and Rust for performance and resilience. This is deep protocol engineering which is perfect for engineers passionate about building the underlying layers of decentralized systems and shipping real world, high performance blockchain infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve and harden the consensus engine (performance, safety, liveness).
- Optimize peer-to-peer networking and reduce latency under load.
- Refine transaction handling, mempool logic, and propagation strategies.
- Implement defenses against network abuse and Sybil attacks.
- Review, propose, and implement architectural changes from the Python prototype into Go/Rust production code.
- Collaborate in-person with the team in Miami for regular design, test, and review sessions.
Requirements
- Strong background in blockchain internals: consensus algorithms, validator logic, and P2P networking.
- Applied cryptography experience relevant to protocol security.
- Production-level experience in protocol engineering (not smart contract work).
- Proven contributions to blockchain protocols or similar distributed systems — include GitHub / portfolio links.
- Comfortable coding and deploying systems in Go and/or Rust (experience porting prototypes a plus).
- Physically located in Miami and available for in-person collaboration. If you are not Miami-based, please do not apply.
Nice-to-have
Experience with network simulators, distributed tracing, high-throughput systems, or prior work on open-source blockchain protocols (e.g., Tendermint, Substrate, Geth) is highly valued.
When applying, include links to your GitHub and examples of protocol-level work, a short summary of your relevant experience, and your expected hourly rate. DM or apply only if you are located in Miami and meet the protocol-level experience requirements.
